The seamless inclusion of antique material in our creations makes them singularly unique, contributing to the character and distinction of our clients’ homes. Our vast inventory of antique and reclaimed material defines our products. We showcase the world's largest collection of antique doors including Spanish Colonial and classic antique mesquite Mexican doors, teak and pine doors from Southeast Asia as well as material from Central and South America, and Northern New Mexico. Among the more than 5,000 doors, you will also find ornate carved columns and corbels, antique carved cabinets, dowry chests, reclaimed beams and ceiling timbers, antique tin ceilings and roofing material, cast iron railings, wooden boats and salvaged building materials, all from the 18th through the early 20th centuries. |
The vast majority of our woods have been salvaged from countries with no historical preservation where old wood is often burned or discarded. La Puerta Originals reuses and recycles nearly every piece of this reclaimed wood, making our products ideal for green or sustainable projects. Since antique wood has naturally lost moisture over time, it's more stable than new woods and typically more durable. Most of our custom home elements include a combination of materials - a door from Mexico inset with carved panels from India, or a kitchen set with refrigerator door panels fashioned from reclaimed barn wood, cabinet doors incorporating antique tin paneling and a stove hood constructed from corbels and columns, for example. The possibilities are limitless, the results extraordinary. |
