La Puerta Originals shipped some of their latest creations to Nevada to be installed inside the newly renovated MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in downtown Las Vegas. The Diablo Cantina, a new restaurant and bar at the hotel, will soon feature several La Puerta Originals custom doors, as well as a number of bars and bar tops, interior doors, ceiling panels, and other custom-built architectural accents for this authentic-themed Old Mexico eatery.

“ This project is really exciting to us because it shows that La Puerta Originals has grown from what was once a small custom door shop to now being fully capable of producing high-end products and millwork for complex commercial projects,” said Melissa Coleman, President of La Puerta Originals.

The exterior front entry doors for the Diablo Cantina are of massive construction measuring 26 feet wide by 13 feet tall, additional patio doors in the restaurant are 14 feet wide by 15 feet tall. Each door is constructed of salvaged wood and custom grillwork all designed by La Puerta Originals. The front entry and patio doors of the restaurant are complimented by several custom designed one-of-a-kind interior doors throughout the restaurant.

Other pieces for the project include two 90 foot long bars with antique tin clad and wooden bar tops as well as authentic custom railings for the restaurant

balconies and stairwells. Other recent high profile commercial projects for the company also include design and product manufacture of doors, bars, windows, wall facades and other interior details for the Cuban-themed restaurant, Cuba Libre, at the Tropicana Casino and Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The majority of the wood we use comes from reclaiming lumber from demolition projects around the Country and then we use only water-based paints and non-toxic stains and finishes.
